Athletes Guide 1: Hip Mobility For Speed And Flexibility
Before I became a verified multi-sport athlete
I played high school football
I maxed out on all stats
Strength, Height drive.
I did have a little trouble on flexibility and speed but I thought nothing of it.
Now that I look back I wish I spent more time on these 2 factors.
We had a game one day and I was out on the field.
I was doing great, I was shifty with my feet and aggressive with my strength.
I felt undefeatable, until
I was matched up with a 6 foot, 225 bench, 300 squat, black dreadhead.
I thought nothing of it, I did my drill and I caught the ball.
I was open for the touchdown.
Then I had a cramp...
And that same dread-head was behind me chasing me like a bull
He tackled me and I immediately folded.
I got dropped 1 foot before the touchdown line.
When my coach asked me what happened, I said I had a cramp in my hip.
He asked if I was stretching my hips and, and I said no.
The whole team looked at me in shock and my coach... I didn't even look back at him after seeing my team's reaction.
He benched me and for a very long time I didn't get on the field.
I felt devastated and utterly embarrassed because I didn't do one simple thing.
Stretch and strengthen hip flexors.
After I got that under control, I received many D1 offers from various states across the United States.
I learned my lesson.
